Bioxyne International’s global headquarters is located in the world-renowned dairy research region of Waikato, New Zealand.
Bioxyne International is developing a range of functional foods and beauty products that contain ingredients sourced exclusively from New Zealand by our scientists. Bioxyne Ltd. is an Australian Listed Company (ASX Code:BXN) which commenced business in 1998. Bioxyne is a life sciences, health and beauty products company. Our consumer health products have been sold globally for over 15 years. Our products are developed in Australia and New Zealand using the finest natural ingredients and raw materials.
Through a recent acquisition in New Zealand (April 2017), now Bioxyne Ltd. Is trading as Bioxyne International. Our channel to market is thru Direct Sales. This offers the best opportunity to explain our products and understand our customers’ needs. Bioxyne Ltd. is further developing a range of functional food and beauty products containing ingredients sourced exclusively from New Zealand, for our direct sales channel.
Bioxyne Ltd. is one of the few entities to own a clinically tested patented probiotic called Lactobacillus fermentum VRI-003 (PCC®), developed in Australia. This probiotic is developed in Australia and has been tested clinically.
Bioxyne’s probiotic business and its proprietary patented product PCC®, is supported by a manufacturing and distribution agreement with Chr. Hansen (Denmark), a global leader in the manufacturing of natural food additives and supplements products for food, human health, pharmaceutical and agriculture industries.

Maxwell Parkin
Mr. Maxwell Frederick Parkin is Scientific Advisor of the Company. Mr Parkin has over 35 years’ of dairy management and consulting experience in New Zealand, Australia, China and South-East Asia Pacific, the America, Africa and the Middle East. Mr Parkin’s former dairy industry roles includes Group General Manager, Manufacturing, Fonterra; Director International Manufacturing, Fonterra and CEO of Southland Dairy Cooperative Company Limited. He is a recognised technical expert in the field of food processing technologies, logistics and supply chain. He also served on the Board of NZ Dairy Research Institute. He is currently a director of Hubbard Foods Limited, Miraka Limited and Chairman of Combined Technologies Limited. He was also appointed as a Distinguished Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Food Science in 2010.

Peter French
Peter French, PhD, is a cell and molecular biologist who has been extensively involved in both basic and clinical medical research and commercialisation of biological intellectual property for more than 30 years. He has an MBA in Technology Management and a PhD in cell biology. Dr French is a Past President of the Australia and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology from 1994-1996. He represented Australia’s biological scientists on the Board of the Federation of Australian Science and Technology Societies, Australia’s peak government lobbying organization for science and technology. His research areas of expertise include cell biology, immunology, infectious disease (including HIV/AIDS), neurobiology and oncology, with 29 publications in peer reviewed international scientific and medical journals. He obtained his PhD in 1987 for work performed at CSIRO on characterisation of the keratin composition of the developing wool fibre. He carried out postdoctoral research at the Children’s Medical Research Foundation, Sydney, on cell surface glycoprotein expression in neuronal development. In 1989 he became Principal Scientific Officer and Manager of the Centre for Immunology, St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
Since 1998 Dr French has been extensively involved in Australia’s biotechnology industry, initially founding the stem cell storage company Cryosite, now a public listed company (ASX:CTE), and then taking up leadership roles at Probiomics Ltd (where he oversaw the commercialisation of an immune modulating probiotic to the local and international pharmacy market). In 2010 he was appointed Managing Director of ASX-listed gene therapy company Benitec Biopharma Limited (ASX:BLT). Peter grew the company from 1.5 FTEs in 2010 to 28 FTEs in December 2015, and initiated the Company’s product portfolio. He conducted several successful capital raisings in the US (approximately $60M raised), including a NASDAQ listing in 2015.
Currently, Peter is Scientific Adviser of Bioxyne Limited (ASX:BXN), an ASX-listed company developing, marketing and selling a probiotic for immune and gut health, and is a Director of AusDiagnostics Pty Limited, a molecular diagnostic kit manufacturer based in Sydney.

Grant Washington-Smith
Bioxyne’s research division is led by Grant Washington-Smith BSc (Hons), MBA. Grant is a nutritional scientist. He is the Chief Scientist of the New Zealand Nutritional Research Institute based at the Fitzherbert Science Park in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
From 2001-2006 he held a senior management role, leading a product and business innovation group at Amway’s global headquarters in Ada, Michigan.
As a Senior Manager of Business Innovation for Amway Inc, Grant was involved in a number of new product introductions, including personalized nutrition and genetic testing related to nutritional supplements for heart disease.
During his career, Grant has launched several successful companies, products and ingredient brands whereby many of these companies have gained awards and international recognition.
Grant returned to New Zealand where he has been working with GTNZ to develop its own range of award winning products.
